As the saying goes: April showers bring May flowers. May also brings the return of the Wednesday Farmers' Market and the Salem Saturday Market.
The Salem Saturday Market expands this month from locally grown plants to the full market. It's open every Saturday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the corner of Summer & Marion Streets NE. Free parking is available across Marion St. from the Market.
Vendors at the Wednesday Farmers' Market, the smaller version of the Saturday Market, are also ready to start dishing out fresh, local products starting on May 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and continuing every Wednesday through October. This year the Wednesday Market will be consolidating down to a single block between High and Liberty downtown. The Market coordinators hope to bring in acoustic music on a regular basis as well. Free parking is available in the Chemeketa Parkade.
