"Doomsday"

A quarantine is forced on a country overrun with chaos when a virus strikes. A wall is erected leaving two civilizations separated. This strategy works for almost three decades until the virus resurfaces in a city within the walls. A group of specialists are dispatched into still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. This film kinda plays like a modernization of Mad Max, it will be interesting to see how well it is received this weekend with the big family film. "Doomsday" is rated R and is playing at Regal Santiam 11.

"Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!"

Everyone's favorite pet detective leads a voice cast of other funny people in the latest adaptation of a Dr. Seuss book. Jim Carrey plays Horton, an elephant with an imagination bigger than, well, himself. When Horton hears a cry for help on a speck of dust floating through the air, he becomes determined to come to the rescue. Steve Carrell, Carol Burnett, Seth Rogen, and Will Arnett make up just a few of the familiar voices that take a stab at this classic book. "Horton" is rated G and is playing at Regal Movieland 7, Regal Lancaster Mall Stadium 11, and Independence Cinema in Independence.

"Never Back Down"

Oh boy. This movie looks like it should've been a straight to DVD release. I guess an appearance by Djimon Hounsou is enough to secure its theatrical debut. A kid with a troubled past finds solace in the sport of mixed martial arts. Hounsou plays a mentor that helps him master the art form. "Never Back Down" is rated PG-13 and is playing at Regal Santiam 11 and Independence Cinema.
