The Westminster Fine Arts Festival is celebrating its 20th year of helping beginning local artists become known and featuring outstanding professionals. Fifty-three juried artists will offer exhibits such as watercolors, photography, jewelry, pottery and glasswork.

Barbara Tallman, this year's co-chair, says,
"The quality of the art has risen considerably in the past four years since we hired a professional panel of jurists,"co-chair Barbara Tallman said.
Artists pay a nominal fee of $10 to have their work considered.

Shirley Ohmart, this year's festival chairperson, and long-time volunteer, says that the festival is a group effort, that involves many volunteers.
This year, the special attraction will be the weaving and woodcarving of Monica Setziol, who is daughter to LeRoy Setziol who was also a woodcarver. On October 13 there will be a special "Breakfast with the Arts" event at 8:30 a.m. where there will be lectures on the life and work of LeRoy Setziol and viewings of his work. To reserve breakfast tickets call (503) 364-3327.
Admission during the three-day festival is free.

There will be an opening reception on October 11 with food, entertainment and an art presale. This event begins at 7 p.m. On Friday, the festival is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
